About Historic Point Pleasant
Historic Point Pleasant is one of Bradenton's oldest and most charming neighborhoods, with contiguous properties dating back over 100 years. Our organization is dedicated to preserving the historic character and architectural integrity of our community while promoting a strong sense of belonging among all residents.

Our History
Point Pleasant was first developed in the late 19th century as Bradenton began to grow. The area features a variety of architectural styles including Victorian, Craftsman, Colonial Revival, and Florida Vernacular homes. Many of these historic properties have been lovingly restored and maintained, providing a glimpse into Bradenton's past.
The neighborhood has been home to many prominent Bradenton citizens who helped shape the development of the city and wider region. Through preservation efforts, we aim to honor this rich heritage and ensure these stories continue to be told.
Architectural Heritage
The architectural diversity of Point Pleasant reflects the various periods of development throughout Bradenton's history. Notable features include wrap-around porches, decorative woodwork, original hardwood floors, and unique structural elements that showcase the craftsmanship of the era.
Our neighborhood contains excellent examples of Florida vernacular architecture adapted to the subtropical climate, featuring high ceilings, large windows for cross-ventilation, and deep porches to provide shade.
